About Us
A.S.D. Majorettes Onda Azzurra is composed of 30 athletes, accompanied by a group of drummers and flag bearers during parades. In addition to participating in carnivals, local festivals, and official or charity events, the group also organizes concerts and performances—both in collaboration with city bands and independently—featuring classical and modern music. Founded in 1977 in the city of Jesolo as a folkloric group, our association quickly became known for leading carnival parades across Veneto and Emilia-Romagna. Over the years, as the group expanded, it received increasing invitations to perform at festivals, civic and sporting events, and prestigious theaters throughout Italy, reaching as far as Sicily and even abroad in countries such as Austria and Croatia. The group has also been featured on television programs. Through training with professional instructors, our association has evolved artistically, performing to modern as well as traditional marching music. Incorporating flags and cheerleading techniques alongside the classic batons and pom-poms, the group was among the first in Veneto to form certified coaches, captivating audiences of all ages. In 2014, the group officially became an Amateur Sports Association (A.S.D.), allowing its athletes to compete in the sport of Twirling. It is affiliated with CONI and the Italian Twirling Federation. Onda Azzurra also formed its own percussion and flag teams to accompany its athletes and invested in audio equipment and sound technicians, enabling the association to organize its performances independently. Since 2018, the team has competed in Italian and European Majorette Championships, earning podium finishes and excellent results. What makes this group truly special is the strong bond among the athletes, which grows day by day through shared training, a love for their sport, and the unwavering support of their families.
